Sturtevant Police Still Seeking Burglary Suspect

Sturtevant police have only a few details for the description of a suspect who broke into two houses, both while residents were home. They are asking for the public's help finding them.

Sturtevant police are asking for the public's help finding the suspect who broke into at least two houses in the village. Both crimes took place while residents were at home.

SVPD Chief Sean Marschke confirmed the suspect - considered to be a black male driving a silver car - remains at large.

"We're a pretty close-knit community here so if anyone sees anything or anyone who raises an alarm bell, call 911 and tell dispatch," he said.

Both incidents took place within hours of each other on July 8 and involved the suspect entering a home through an unlocked window and taking a variety of items.

The first crime occurred in an apartment building in the 3100 block of 86th Street, and the resident was at home in another room. The second crime took place in a single-family home in the 3200 block of Kensington Square while an adult and two children slept in bedrooms on the second floor.

If anyone has information about these crimes, they could earn a reward for their anonymous tip that leads to arrest by contacting Crime Stoppers at (262) 636-9330, via e-mail through the website www.racine.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending a text message to CRIMES (274637) and typing in TIP417 with your text message.
