Though heavy machinery has been moving dirt and digging the foundation, Racine Dental officially broke ground Friday.
Company officials, representatives from Mount Pleasant and employees of Racine Dental gathered together at the site of the new building at Airline and Kinzie.
Construction is expected to complete next summer on the 60,000 square foot building that will house general dentistry for the whole family, oral surgery, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and an in-house lab.
Racine Dental's total investment in the new facility comes to about $12 million. The practice opened some 40 years ago.
