No Right Turn Into Village Center Drive

Getting to Kohl's or feeding a caffeine addiction at Starbucks means using the Newman Road entrance while work at Village Center Drive continues.

Getting to the stores and restaurants at Village Center Drive is temporarily restricted off of Washington Avenue.

Construction on the intersection means drivers cannot turn right.

Work there will improve the overall flow of traffic once the Walmart Neighborhood Market opens across the street, according to Mount Pleasant Community Development Coordinator Logan Martin.

"Modifications to the intersection as part of the Walmart Neighborhood Market Traffic Impact Analysis," he said.

Additional road work also included in the project include installing a traffic signal at Wright Avenue and the entrance to CNH on Highway 31; widening and striping 16th Street just west of Highway 31; and road striping on Emmertsen both north and south of Highway 20.
