New Hospice Center Opens June 24 in Mount Pleasant

A new hospice center will open later this month in Mount Pleasant, giving families in the greater Racine area an option closer to home for loved ones who need end-of-life care.

Hospice House, 6101 16th Street, part of Hospice Alliance will begin taking patients on June 24 in five different suites designed to mimic at-home comfort in a 3,500 square foot renovation of the west wing of Lincoln Lutheran’s Becker Shoop complex.

Hospice Alliance's Hospice Houses serve the communities of Kenosha, Racine and eastern Walworth County.

“When we opened our Kenosha Hospice House ten years ago, we always envisioned we would one day have a hospice house in Racine as well. We are thrilled that the Racine Hospice House is under construction and we’re proud to be the only provider of 24/7 hospice house care in both communities,” said Rita Hagen, Executive Director, Hospice Alliance, in a press release posted to the organization's website.

Hospice House Racine will celebrate its grand opening from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a ribbon-cutting and tours of the facility.
