Wells Bros. Serves Up Benefit Dinner for Long Time Employee

Friends and neighbors are invited to a spaghetti dinner to help a long-time Wells Bros. employee tackle his mounting medical bills.

Community stalwart Wells Brothers Pizza is hosting a spaghetti dinner for Larry Gaulke, a longtime employee with a growing pile of medical bills.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 25, diners can enjoy a plate of the restaurant's famous spaghetti (homemade sauce and meatballs!), salad with their signature homemade Italian dressing and their well-known bread (with butter, of course).

"Larry has been a server in Racine for years, but he's been with us for over seven years," said co-owner Paula Wells Huck.

She said Gaulke has had a couple of strokes and even suffered a heart attack. He is now home from the hospital recovering, Huck said his daughter reports.

"He was told to lay low, but anyone who knows Larry, knows that is hard for him," she added."But, he's finally taking care of himself."

Gaulke has indicated he might be back at work sometime mid-December.

Tickets in advance are $8 each or $9 at the door. There's also a silent auction of a variety of gift certificates from local businesses; Racine Harley-Davidson; and a bake sale with items donated by loyal customers who request being seated in Gaulke's section. Sweetie's Traditions cupcakes is also donating some tasty treats for the day.

Wells Brothers is located at 2148 Mead Street in Mount Pleasant. Here's the post from the restaurant's Facebook page:

We still have tickets available for the Spaghetti dinner fundraiser for our server Larry. Larry has experienced some medical problems recently, and we are trying to help him with his growing medical bills.

Sunday, November 25th, 11 am - 4 pm at Wells Brothers.

$8 (in advance) will get you a plate of spaghetti, meatball, salad with our homemade Italian dressing and bread & butter. We will also have a huge silent auction and a yummy bake sale. We will have tickets available at the door for only $9. Hope you can join us!

If you want the best pizza Racine has to offer, Wells Bros. is the place to go! The only problem is it's location. If you decide to go, make sure you carry concealed.

Rees; When the Sacred village Board cloaked the building of a new Village hall for over $17 million,Read More it was brought to there attention to build TWO new fire stations. One south, one north. Instead they built the Taj Mahal and a distance fire station. Maybe the two remaining Trustees could orate their decision for the residents.

Hmm "make a stronger Wisconsin than ever". Yup Scottie, 44th in the country is the beat!Read More Soon 50th? Inverted math? "The recall brought us closer together" You won spending 6-1 using a majority of out of state $, had 5 times longer to campaign and won because one side failed to confront the second battle of recalls as a whole vs Scotties recall.
