Walmart Neighborhood Market Opens with Charitable Contributions
The Walmart Neighborhood Market on Washington Avenue is now open.
The new Walmart Neighborhood Market in Mount Pleasant opened for business Wednesday morning.
During a short presentation and ribbon cutting, Store Manager Steve Rozalowsky presented donation checks to a handful of area organizations as well as the Mount Pleasant Police and the South Shore Fire departments, the joint park in Franksville and the Kids Connection playground there.
"We're so happy to be part of the community and to be able to show our support with grants for these deserving groups," he said.
Before Rozalowsky, Racine County Executive Jim Ladwig, Village President Mark Gleason, and Mount Pleasant Community Development Coordinator Logan Martin cut the ribbon, a Walmart employee led the troops in a chant to pump them up for the busy days ahead.
After the ribbon was cut, Rozalowsky declared, "Let's buy some some groceries."
The Walmart Neighborhood Market, 5625 Washington Avenue, is open from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week.
