Walmart: Focus on Fresh Cornerstone of Neighborhood Market

The new Walmart Neighborhood Market opens in eight days. Patch got a sneak peek into the new story Tuesday.

The new Walmart Neighborhood Market opens Oct. 2, and employees there are busy getting the store ready for its debut.

Manager Steve Rozalowsky, of Mount Pleasant, is excited about the new venture.

"It's nice to be part of the community and help build something here," he told Patch Tuesday during a tour of the space. "I take great pride that I live here and I'm running this store."

Rozalowsky said what the Neighborhood Market offers customers is convenience of in-and-out shopping at an everyday low price and a focus on fresh produce purchased seasonally from local farmers.

"We offer a quick, convenient shopping option with all the top sellers," he added. "We also do whatever we can do to support locally grown, seasonal produce. It's a real focus on fresh."

The Neighborhood Market, 5625 Washington Avenue, opens at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 2 with an official ribbon cutting ceremony.
