Ghosts and Ghouls Could Make Mount Pleasant Home This Halloween

Village officials will hear about plans this week to turn an abandoned commercial property along Interstate 94 into a haunted house.

The village is taking public input Tuesday night on a plan to turn a commercial building into a haunted house. 

On the table is a proposal for the property at 2819 SE Frontage Road in Mount Pleasant, which is located near Sylvania Airport just south of Highway 11 along Interstate 94. 

The public hearing on the plan will start at 7 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Village Hall, 8811 Campus Drive.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Village of Mount Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Mount Pleasant Civic Campus | Village Hall, 8811 Campus Drive on the proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance of the Village of Mount Pleasant as its affects the zoning regulations of said ordinance and the boundaries of zoning district in the Village pursuant to Section 62.23 (7) of the Wisconsin Statutes.

Rezone Petition RZ-03-11 to rezone approximately 6.92 +/- acres located at 2819 SE Frontage Road from AG (Agricultural) with an (OHS) Highway Service Overlay to (BP) Business Park to permit the renovation of a commercial property into a haunted house. [Madro owner Stephans agent]

The aforementioned rezone petition will be reviewed at the May 18, 2011 Plan Commission meeting.
