Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War, according to History.com. Though the holiday isn't as highly celebrated in it's country of origin (Mexico), people in the United States have made Cinco de Mayo something big.
