Families 'Bubble Wrap' Up a Good Time at Sealed Air YMCA Grand Opening

The new Sealed Air YMCA in Mount Pleasant is officially open now that the Bubble Wrap ribbon has been cut.

Local dignataries like Mount Pleasant Village President Carolyn Milkie, Racine Mayor John Dickert and representatives from Diversey, Case, and Cree were in hand to say a few words. Then it was time for the Bubble Wrap ribbon to be unfurled by the Washington Park High School cheerleaders for the ceremonial cutting.

YMCA Executive Director Jeff Collen wielded the giant scissors. With a quick snip, the new facility was considered dedicated by the community, for the community. The new Y comes with 55 new full time jobs and a gym floor made right here in Wisconsin made possible by the generous donations of partner corporations and individuals alike.

The Sealed Air YMCA has been open for a week for members to sweat, swim and relax with friends and neighbors, and these first few days have served as an on-going open house. New members can have their joining fee ($99) waived if they sign up by the end of the day Sunday.
