Texas Roadhouse Guardians of the Flame® FREE Lunch Fundraiser to Benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin
Racine and Kenosha, Wis. – Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch?
That won’t be true on April 22 when seven Texas Roadhouse locations
across the state, take part in the Guardians of the Flame FREE lunch fundraiser
to benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI).
The stores participating include Kenosha, Racine, New Berlin, Waukesha,
La Crosse, West Bend and Eau Claire.
Fill your stomach without emptying your wallet! Texas Roadhouse, Racine and Kenosha will open its doors from 11a.m. - 2 p.m. to serve a free lunch consisting of a pulled pork sandwich, fries, applesauce and a soda.
Local law enforcement officers, SOWI athletes, and wait staff will team up to serve this free lunch and 100% of the tips will benefit approximately 1,500 local athletes and nearly 10,000 athletes across the state! Fundraisers like this, ensure the organization can continue to provide programming in sports, health, education, and community building.
In 2012, the Kenosha Texas Roadhouse location served 1,025 meals and raised over $7,500 during this event. Statewide, last year the event raised more than $34,000!
A special thank you to Texas Roadhouse, the Law Enforcement Torch Run®, WRJN, Light Rock 92.1, WIIL Rock, WLIP and Honda of Kenosha for making this event possible.
SOWI provides year-round training and competition opportunities through 17 different Olympic-type sports for nearly 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities. Thank you to Kwik Trip and the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the Mission Partners of SOWI, enabling the organization to hold 513 competitions annually throughout the state.
