Nick Young Hits the Beats During a Bollywood Routine

The Wisconsin dancer tackled one of the most technically difficult and fast dances on "So You Think You Can Dance."

Bollywood came early to So You Think You Can Dance this season.

Wisconsin dancer Nick Young didn't get any favors during the second week of competition on FOX's summer hit. The first week out Young and his partner, Iveta Lukosiute, pulled the quickstep out of the hat. Lukosiute is a professional ballroom dancer so all eyes were on Young, wondering if he would be able to keep up. He did more than that and earned his place in the "safety pit" of dancers who racked up enough votes to sail through to the next week.

This week, Young and Lukosiute pulled Bollywood out of the hat. Introduced to the show during Season 4, Bollywood numbers are choreographed to look like mini-movie productions from India; from the costumes to the precise placement of fingers to the way dancers' feet are flexed. The routines demand a higher level of athleticism from the dancers than any other style.

Once again, Young was a star. He was a strong partner, never missed a beat and kept his movements quick and sharp. Lukosiute looked out of her element and appeared to have trouble staying in unison and placing her hands properly or kicking on the beat. Honestly, she might have put Young in danger.

It's important to vote, Patchers! Last week, all couples went through, but this week, two couples - four dancers - will go home. We hope you picked up the phone, texted, or went online so Young can stay to dance another week!
