Weekend Ahead: Holiday Events and More

What could be more fun than dinner with Santa, holiday shopping, a charity run and a chance to help the homeless?

Don’t stay home and twiddle your thumbs this weekend. The weather is not going to be frightful and a fire won’t be necessary.

There's lots to do in the area that will warm your heart, inside and out, in the spirit of the season.

The Sturtevant Fireworks mostaccioli dinner is from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Sturtevant Village Hall. Good food, great fun, basket raffle and the jolliest of elves to boot! Come out and support the fireworks.

Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis®

Put on your jingle bells and run/walk for arthritis research. The weather's going to be great for this outdoor race through Renaissance Park. Registration starts at 8 a.m.

Wine Tasting and Holiday Specials

Enjoy some fine wine and shop for the holidays with in-store specials at Grapes 2 Glass Saturday, 3 to 5 p.m. Twenty-five percent off all general merchandise includes Christmas, accessories, wine racks and more.

Shop for the holidays in downtown Franksville. This fair offers handmade soaps, wood fired ceramics, stone fetishes, gemmed glass, and all sorts of bling from semi-precious silversmith pendants and rings to exquisite bead work jewelry.  

Don't be a Scrouge! Get out those decorations and and show everyone your holiday spirit. Do you have a awe-inducing display? Enter Patch's “Deck the House” contest for a chance to win $100,000 for your local school district and $500 to pay your electric bills. 

Blank-Fest, Racine

From Real Racine: Music and blankets. A new or gently used blanket (or $10 in cash) is your ticket to Blank-Fest at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at McAuliffe's Pub, 3700 Meachem Road. The event includes three bands each evening. Organizers hope to collect 400 blankets that will be donated to area homeless assistance programs.
