West Lawn Memorial Park will host its annual Memorial Day Observance ceremony at its Garden of Valor on Monday.
The convocation will be given by the Rev. John Fleming of Evangelical United Methodist Church. Cheryl McCrary and Kip Kushing will be the featured soloists. Mike Langendorf will play "Taps." Cheyenne Lentz, valedictorian of the Walden High School class of 2011 will speak about "Does My Generation Have a Role in America's Future?". She won a scholarship through the Sturtevant Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter and placed sixth in the state competition for an audio essay about the topic.
