I think by now everyone knows that Bob Woodward came out and exposed the facts on who made the sequester deal.  In doing so, he brought to light the president’s effort to blame the entire sequester and whatever aftermath that might follow, on the GOP.  As it turns out, he really poked the hornet’s nest.  Since that article the White House, members of the press and liberals country wide are striving to discredit his legacy and his most recent journalistic endeavor. 

There are a couple of theories floating around currently as to why this is playing out this way.  The first as written by Jonathan Tobin, questions if the Obama Administration senses that a GOP win with sequester could bring to light the fact that country has not turned against the Republicans as the Republicans themselves believe.  This could then give the GOP the backbone it needs to block the remainder of Obama’s agenda. 

The second possibility is presented by Dick Morris (a man I don’t have much faith in but occasionally he makes sense) and his article showing that Obama is hoping to use sequester as the agent of evil that is bring down the economy.  Morris asserts that Obama understands his policy will lead to a double dip recession and to keep his policy from drawing the brunt of the criticism, sequester presents an opportunity to blame the GOP for the economy.  As I said, Dick Morris is not my favorite news source; however, when you look at the most recent economic news it is not looking good for the start of the next year.  I am sure the President himself knows this and while he may believe in his socialist ideals, as they fail across Europe he has no where to turn. 

What amazes me about both the attacks on Woodward and the theories behind why the White House needs the sequester lie; is that the liberals are marching in lock step with their leader.  They are incapable of critical thought when it comes to possibly exposing their messiah, sorry, president as being imperfect.  I can understand liberals burying their heads in the sand when the Administration knew nothing about thousands of illegals being released from prison or that Obama was most likely sleeping while an Ambassador was killed over a 7hr period; but the difference is that those instances of presidential mismanagement never had a prominent liberal journalist exposing the truth.  Here you have a respected member of their own ideology pointing out a presidential lie; yet instead of being honest, the liberals would rather attack one of their own.  

The question then becomes are we truly dealing with lemmings aimlessly following their leader regardless of the direction or are they co-conspirators in an attempt to hijack the constitution and this country?
