All federal, and state offices as well as banks will be closed on Monday in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The holiday marks the birthday of the famed civil rights leader. King’s actual birthday is on Jan. 15, but the third Monday of January was designated as the official holiday in 1983.
The Village of Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant, Racine County offices (with the exception of courts from 10:30 am until noon) and the Racine Public Library will be open on Monday, but here's a list of what will be closed:
- Racine Unified School District and all schools
- United States Post Offices will also be closed on Monday and mail will not be delivered.
They will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday and regular mail delivery will resume on that day.
