South Shore Collecting Donations for Hurricane Sandy Victims
SSFD is going to take a trailer full of stuff to people in need in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Citizens on the East Coast are facing winter and the upcoming holidays after being devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The South Shore Fire Department is going to take a trailor to New York and New Jersey on Thanksgiving Day to help provide a list of needed basics.
"We got the idea from another fire department here in Wisconsin and thought it was a great idea," said South Shore fire fighter Jason Caira.
Some of the most needed items include:
- Winter clothing (new or gently used)
- Boots & shoes
- Cleaning supplies
- Paper products
- Pry bars
- Laundry Soap
- Visa gift cards
SSFD is collecting items through Nov. 21 at Sturtevant Village Hall, 2801 89th Street.
