Police Identify Woman Found in Lake Michigan

Officials are not releasing her name pending notification to her family.

Police have identified the body of a woman found Fri., July 15, on the rocks of the shores of Lake Michigan.

Her name is not being released pending notification of her family. While foul play is not suspected at this time, her death remains under investigation.

A Green Bay man heading to the lake for a picnic called police at around 2 pm on July 15 after another man first spotted the woman at about the 1000 block of Pershing Drive. That first witness did not have a cell phone.

The victim was found fully clothed, but without any identification. A photo was found in her pocket that police were hoping would lead to her identity or to the name of a person she knows.
