Police Confirm Bianca Vite is Homicide Victim

Dental records confirm that 21-year-old Bianca Vite is the victim found after a fire on Christmas Day.

Mount Pleasant Police have confirmed that the body of the young woman found in the charred remains of a house fire is 21-year-old Bianca Vite.

According to a written release from MPPD, Vite was identified using dental records.

"With the cooperation of the Racine County Medical Examiner’s Office we were able to positively identify our victim in this case as Bianca F. Vite age 21 of Pleasant Prairie, WI," the statement reads. "The victim was identified through dental records."

MPPD do not have any suspects in custody, the release goes on to state, and they are asking for the public's help gathering information.

"Mount Pleasant Police has not taken anyone into custody at this point, but Investigators continue to follow up on leads," the release continues. "(If anyone has) any information in regards to this case to contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department."

South Shore fire fighters responded Christmas Day to calls of a fire at 5535 16th Street. When they arrived, flames and heavy smoke were visible from the front of the home. After the fire was extinguished, they located a body but could not immediately tell if the victim was male or female.

Neighbors that night told SSFD the homeowners moved to Texas a few months ago.

By the next day, MPPD Chief Tim Zarzecki confirmed the victim was a young adult female and that the case was considered a homicide. The cause of the fire remains unknown and it is also unclear if the fire killed the young woman or if the fire was set to cover her murder.

He also confirmed that while the homeowners had, in fact, moved to Texas, whomever was in the home was not there unlawfully.

Indentifying Vite's remains may have been delayed because of the holidays.

Vite's family held a funeral for her Monday and have set up a Facebook page in her memory.

Anyone with information about this case can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (888) 636-9330, email: http://racine.crimestoppersweb.com, or text message: RACS to 274637(CRIMES).

@karen - "charred" refers to the condition of the house, not of the victim: "found in the charred remains of a house fire." We were the only publication to not use the victim's name until the police confirmed the information.

yes, i am a relative.. so it was read with tears in my eyes. yes, i read it again, but could not change until actually posted. there had been unnecessary description of the scene including the condition of her. again, i already knew she was identified, but again, i misread the story.

Who is this psychopath monster that did this to her? I'm so angry that I'm having a hard time trying to move past shock/horror to acceptance and some sort of closure/peace. I miss her so much and just want to know that this monster who stole her life will be charged and put on trial for taking her from all her family and friends. I want to know why?
