New Lines Could Mean New State Legislators

Patchers living in Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant could get new state senators and one or more assemblypersons.

State GOP leaders released new districting maps on Fri., July 8, that could mean new state legislators for the villages of Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant.

According to a story on WisPolitics.com, the new maps would mean one shared state senator for the cities of Racine and Kenosha and a single district for the suburban and rural areas of both counties.

On the Assembly side, the map marks three distinct areas in Racine County; one for the City of Racine and perhaps some of its surrounding area, one for the southern part of the county and one for the northern part of the county. Click here to see the new maps.

Patch has calls into State Senator Van Wanggaard and State Representatives Robin Vos (R-Rochester), Cory Mason (D-Racine) and Bob Turner (D-Racine).
