Two stories that round up stories, serious crime, a police chief who will also be an administrator and a traditional sweet treat top the list of most-read stories from last week.
And, because we know how busy life can get and how you might miss a story here and there, we've put together a list of stories from last week that attracted the most readers.
We learned that Horlick High School gym teacher Thomas Adams was charged with child enticement for allegedly making inappropriate comments to a 15-year-old student. Because there was debate over whether or not Adams is guilty and if the girl - a minor - is telling the truth, Patch shut down the comments on the story.
Not surprisingly, the story about Joseph Guerrero, the Christmas fire murder suspect identified as the victim's husband, certainly caught reader's attention. He reportedly confessed to investigators and to other people as well, including a cellmate. Guerrero is incarcerated at Dodge Correctional Institution, but he will be in Racine on Feb. 26 for his initial appearance.
Another big story that resonated with readers is that Michael Fink, convicted sex offender, will live on Memorial Drive. He was originally supposed to be on supervised release in West Racine, but when it was discovered he would be a few doors away from one of his victims, the authorities had to find him another home.
Another topic that grabbed your interest - and this should be no surprise - was where in the area we could go to get a paczki. Happy Paczki Day, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras! was made possible because readers gave us excellent directions to the best bakeries.
