Fire Quickly Doused at a Johnson Family Home
Several area fire departments responded to a porch on fire at Skye Johnson's home in Caledonia.
No one was injured in a fire Sunday night at a residence owned by Skye Johnson, daughter of billionaire Curtis Johnson.
Caledonia Fire was dispatched at 6:27 p.m. Sunday night to Johnson's home in the 7200 block of Foley Road.
The fire started, and was mainly contained, on the wraparound front porch. Fire and rescue officials from the Caledonia, South Shore, Oak Creek and a tender from the Franklin fire departments helped to put out the fire, which was extinguished by 7:03 p.m., said Battalion chief Jeff Henningfeld.
Skye Johnson was not home at the time of the fire. However, all occupants in the house were safely evacuated, he said.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
“No one there smokes,” he said. “It’s a gated house. A couple bags of garbage were found outside, but it’s too early to tell what happened.”
The estimated damage to the home is $30,000. The fire is under investigation.
