Democrats Introduce Legislation to Answer FBI Probe

In answer to an FBI probe into Governor Scott Walker's aides from his Milwaukee County days, Madison Democrats are introducing legislation to remove Walker appointees from some civil service jobs.

According to Rep. Cory Mason (D-Racine), Walker put anywhere between 12 and 24 appointees into positions.

"At a time when everyone's been told to sacrifice, the Governor says he needs more political cronies," he said. "It's unbelievable he would suggest this when he talks about scaling back."

Mason said he signed onto the measure, but said it's up the Assembly Majority Leader to assign it to a committee.

"Given the leadership in Madison right now, I can't even begin to guess when or if that might happen," he concluded.

According to a story on The Huffington Post, the raid on Archer's home is part of an on-going investigation about whether or not members of Walker's staff did political work on taxpayer time.

Cynthia Archer worked for Walker when he was Milwaukee County Executive and in his office after he was elected Governor. She has since moved to a lower paying job in the Department of Children and Family Services.

Walker is remaining mum on anything he might know about the FBI raid at his former aide's house.

But in a story on the jsonline.com, Walker acknowledged that his campaign hired Steven Biskupic, a former US Attorney turned defense lawyer to help with subpeona served last year for email.
