Cherry Berry Treat-For-All Creates Sweet Smiles

A new frozen yogurt shop is now open and welcoming the community to indulge in tasty treats sold by the ounce.

Abby Smith, 19, and her sister, Megan Smith, 17, were pretty adventurous with the flavors they tried. "I was pretty excited that Cherry Berry was finally opening," Megan told us. "It all just looks so good so I'm trying a little of everything," Abby added.

Lauren Tuma, 16, and her mom, Dawn, visited Cherry Berry in part so Lauren could turn in her job application. "My friend works here, and I want to work here so I turned in my application, and now we're giving it a try," Lauren said.

Katie Kohlman, 17, said she's been waiting "forever" for Cherry Berry to open their doors. "It's about time," she said. Was it worth the wait? Kohlman said it was, and that she'll be back often.

Racine County Sheriff Chris Schmaling (far right) brought most of his family: wife Jennifer, daughter Amber, 13, and son Zachary, 14. Samantha, 8, was at dance so she missed out. "And she's the one who was more excited for Cherry Berry to open," Schmaling said. "Every time we drive by, she'd ask so here we are. We're going to see if we might take her a little something for after dance."

Mount Pleasant's newest treatery is now open, and smiles were everywhere Thursday as folks tasted a variety of flavor combinations at Cherry Berry in Mount Pleasant.

From little girls who said they might be more careful during future visits when putting flavors together to Racine County Sheriff Chris Schmaling who boldly filled his cup with almost every taste available, visitors to Cherry Berry's opening night had nothing but good things to say.

The store officially opened Friday, but Thursday night was a free-for-all taste extravaganza.

Katie Kohlman, 17, said it was about time the area got a frozen yogurt shop.

"We've been waiting for a frozen yogurt place around here," she said. "I plan to visit often."

Cherry Berry is located at 2860 S. Green Bay Road, next to US Cellular at Highways 11 and 31. Operating hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekends. You can reach them at (262) 260-8965.

This looks like a wonderful establishment that Hoffa MUST patronize in the near future :-)

@Hoffa - soooooo delicious! I had a combination of regular vanilla and cheesecake flavored yogurt topped with sliced almonds and some of every kind of fresh fruit offered (including mango!). I highly recommend a visit ... or several.
