Cherry Berry Opening Provides Sweet Treats for Free
Cherry Berry invites the community to its opening day party where everything is on them.
Cherry Berry in Mount Pleasant is celebrating its opening with free treats for all from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The store is located at 2860 S. Green Bay Road, next to US Cellular at Highways 11 and 31. It officially opens on Friday, but Thursday's event is the company's way of both promoting their frozen yogurt and officially becoming a member of the community.
And the free treats tomorrow aren't sample sizes of just a few flavors and toppings. Owner Tom Wilcox told Patch in October that's just not how they do things.
"We want people to eat as much as they want on us that first day," he said. "And we do that because we know they'll be back. Our friends and fans are very devoted."
Cherry Berry is self-serve frozen yogurt with up to 14 flavors available at a time and 50 different toppings from which to choose. Customers pay 45 cents an ounce so prices are determined by how much customers want.
Paul Slagoski is the store manager, and he said that while he has seven part-time employees in place, he's still looking for additional members of his team.
"People should be outgoing, energetic and love frozen yogurt," he said. "We are accepting applications."
After the store opens, guests can purchase special bracelets for $1 and use those bracelets every Tuesday to get their first three ounces of yogurt free. A special on Thursday with student IDs works the same way.
Cherry Berry will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekends. You can reach them at (262) 260-8965.
