Recount Complete in Judge's Race; Boyle Edges Out Nielsen

After almost two weeks of counting, the results are in from the recount of the Branch 10 of the Racine County Circuit Court election between attorneys Timothy Boyle and Mark Nielsen.

After a close margin of only 61 votes on election night, the final tally is even smaller, but in the end, Timothy Boyle is the new judge in Branch 10 of the Racine County Circuit Court.

He edged out Attorney Mark Nielsen by just 45 votes for the seat, according to a story in The Journal Times.

Final counts give Boyle 16,054 votes to Nielsen's 16,009 votes.

On election night just 61 votes separated the candidates. After outstanding absentee ballots were added, the margin shrunk to 57 votes.

Nielsen requested the recount allowable by state statute because the margin of separation was less than one-half of one percent.
