UPDATE: Power Has Been Restore in Mount Pleasant
Thursday night outages had affected 450 homes between Spring Street and Highway 20, just west of Highway 31.
UPDATE: Accoring to the We Energies power outages map, the service has been restored.
ORIGINAL STORY: The power has been out for about 450 We Energies customers since about 8:15 p.m. Thursday night.
The area affected by the outages is between Spring Street and Highway 20, just west of Highway 31, according to the power outage map on the We Energies website. The outages are still under investigation.
Cathy Schulze, a spokesperson for We Energies, said there are about 4,600 customers without power in the We Energies service area. Most of the outages are in Franklin, Caledonia, Mount Pleasant, Racine, Somers, and Pleasant Prairie.
"At this point we don't have a timeline for when these issues will be resolved. we're dealing with quite a few outages right now," Schulze said. "But we're currently investigating it."

There were HUGE flashes of light in that area around that time. I thought it was lightning... so... maybe it was that and that caused the outtage... OR some transformers or something blew up and that accounted for the flashes. They were SUPER bright flashes that lit up the whole sky... 3 of them. Two were within seconds of each other and another was about half a minute later or so...
